The Isa North Project tenements predominantly overlie the projected northern extension of the Mt Isa - Gunpowder Fault Zone, and rocks of the Mt Isa Western Fold Belt succession.
The Isa North Project tenements are considered prospective for Mt Isa-style copper deposits, sediment-hosted zinc deposits, and uranium deposits (granite hosted and vein breccias style). Numerous significant deposits (owned by third parties) of the target types are located to the south and west of the Company's main tenement area.
Within the project area Proterozoic aged target rocks generally outcrop or are covered by only a thin layer of younger sedimentary cover. For this reason historical exploration has been more intense than in covered terranes to the north. Exploration targets have been identified through a detailed review of historical data sets to identify anomalies in favourable geological settings where prior exploration has been inadequate or incomplete.
Multiple exploration targets have been defined by the Company comprising a mix of geochemical and geophysical anomalies. The location of advanced targets is shown in the map to the left and a summary of key target attributes is included in the table below.
Proposed exploration activities will include surface mapping, geochemical sampling, geophysical surveys (including TEM) and RC and diamond drilling.
