Mt Isa Metals maintains an interest in a number of reconnaissance-stage projects across the broader geographic regions in which it operates. By nature these projects are at an early stage of development and generally attract a low level of exploration expenditure.

The focus for the reconnaissance projects is to advance exploration concepts to the point where prospective opportunities warrant and receive an expanded exploration program whilst lesser opportunities are rejected.

Moonamarra Project

The Moonamarra Project is located 100km south-east of the township of Cloncurry in North-West Queensland. The project comprises a single 320 km2 tenement application that is competitive with a number of third parties.

The application area includes a multiple significant geophysical anomalies (magnetic and gravity anomalies) that present as potential base metal targets including iron-oxide copper-gold deposits and silver-lead-zinc deposits.

The project area lies approximately 40km to the east of the Mount Isa Inlier (the limit of Proterozoic outcrop). Basement depth to the principal targets is estimated in the range 250 to 300 metres.

MET awaits a decision on the award of the tenement by the Queensland Department of Mines and Energy.
